Past Tense: What A Wonderful World and the Power of Image + Emotion

Before google, youTube, iThis and iThat, in fact, just right around the advent of AOL and the greeting "You've got mail," @The Story Studio was asked by a faith-based Television Network to produce a non-broadcast music video highlighting some of the feel-good media moments of the 20th Century.  Important, seminal moments are painfully missing in this piece - the vaccination for Polio comes to mind.  But when I look at this again after so many years I'm struck by the powerful emotion of each single image and how connecting these shared experiences of victory gives the piece a dynamic quality.

What makes a video piece work is an important idea to understand as you work to stage your brand. Why?  Because the hot new thing in captivating organic search and traffic on the internet is the use of video.

Here's what is driving this new frenzy of video content production:

1. Google owns youTube and has organized the youTube sphere in a way that video tags are driving traffic like crazy.

2. Videos go viral much easier than words or concepts in language.

3. Links are still the capital of the Internet.  A good video can create a ton of link backs to your domain moving you up in the ranks.

4. Emotional potential in a video is greater than in any other medium.  Your Emotional Value Proposition can really excite your market.

This "What a Wonderful World" Music Video is pure emotional Americana sugar where each single image is historically iconic and connects to the next image in thought, emotion and/or in motion.  We created this for a faith based TV Network and their brand values.  When you create a video for your brand, reflect your values and shoot for meaning and emotion in your images.  Connect your images in a way that builds up to a whole concept that produces an agreement in your viewer.
